Saint Armands Circle is a unique shopping and dining destination located on St. Armands Key The circle was founded by circus magnate John Ringling in the 1920s, with the vision of creating a European-style shopping district.   Ringling hired architect John Nolen to design the circle, which features a central park surrounded by a ring of upscale boutiques, restaurants, and galleries. The circle was named after St. Armand, the patron saint of Corsica, where Ringling had spent time during his travels.   In addition to world-class shopping and dining, Saint Armands Circle also hosts several  car shows, art festivals, and live music performances. The circle is also home to several cultural institutions, including the Sarasota Ballet and the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.   Locals love the ability to stroll the circle and enjoy the proximity to both Lido Beach and Longboat Key!
